Northeast Community Park Receives Support from Missouri Department of Conservation for Tree Maintenance

SPRINGFIELD, MO — Northeast Community Park has received a generous investment from the Missouri Department of Conservation to support ongoing tree maintenance and conservation efforts throughout the park.

This funding will help maintain the park’s growing tree canopy ensuring a healthy and sustainable environment for the community to enjoy. The initiative supports nearly 100 trees across 40 acres of parkland.

“We are so grateful for the investment that has been made in Northeast Springfield,” said Joe Sardo, Park Development Director. “This couldn’t have been possible without the generosity of the Missouri Department of Conservation and the diligence of volunteers who worked so hard to make this place welcoming for everyone.”

Located north of I-44 on Glenstone, Northeast Community Park serves as a growing hub for recreation, connection, and accessibility, including the development of an inclusive playground designed for individuals of all abilities.

Work supported by this investment began on April 21st, and will assist with continued efforts to ensure the long-term health and beauty of the park’s natural landscape.
